Study found that physical distancing was an effective COVID mitigation strategy.
On July 1, 2020, The Lancet Infectious Diseases journal published an article that conducted a mathematical modeling study to explore the “association between mobility patterns and COVID-19 transmission” in the United States. The article was authored by Lauren Gardner, director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, and several of her colleagues. The findings supported physical distancing as an effective way to slow the spread of COVID-19.
